3-5 February 2022 | Cartoons and digital cultures
The University of Lausanne is hosting a three day conference on cartoons and digital cultures, focusing on the challenges posed by the digitisation of the creation and communication process of cartoons. The conference will also address the difficulties of communicating graphic satire via the Internet, which is a source of manipulation and misunderstanding.
The conference brings together actors of press illustration - artists, publishers, organizers, curators, researchers - to share their experiences and discuss the solutions they envision.
I will be speaking about the legal implications of satire. The full conference programme, which includes many great speakers such as the renowned cartoonist Chappatte, is available online. This hybrid event is open to everyone. If you wish to attend online, you must register at caricaturesnumeriques@unil.ch.
